In Ambite del Tajuña, a town east of Madrid, there are still remains of an important medieval past. Legends of knights and magic trees are still on the lips of the villagers, who this year celebrate for the fourth time a fun fair in which they dress up as soldiers, ladies and princes.
The Medieval Fair of the Knight of Ambite will be held from Friday, August 16 through Sunday, August 18. It will start with a parade led by the very knight of the Ambiteño legends accompanied by a lady and a fierce dragon. Anyone wearing a costume inspired by the feudal era can participate in the tour. The activity will begin on Friday at 21:00 hours in Benito Torres Street and will end in the Plaza Mayor.
On Saturday 17th, the Program of the fair is full of activities. In the morning, the medieval craft market will open its doors (11:00 a.m.) and there will be a juggling show (12:30 p.m.); at noon there will be a storyteller; in the evening (9:30 p.m.) the theater company Ambite en Escena will perform a play that will revolve around the well-known chivalrous character that gives its name to the fair, as well as an exciting sword fight(10:15 p.m.) and an exciting sword show (10:15 p.m.) show dance show (23:00 hours).
