Peter Pan didn’t want to grow up, but now he wants to dance. The ticking of the crocodile marks the rhythm of the pliés, the Lost Boys are a little less so when the music plays, and Spain becomes Neverland with “Ballet of Lights” in Madrid. A brilliant dance show in which fairy dust covers the costumes of the dancers in the form of LED lights, illuminating each pirouette. Countless points of light that come to the capital with an evening of fairy tale, light and dance.
And where can you live? In the second star on the right and straight ahead until dawn or, what is the same, in the central Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. One of the most iconic places in the city that will be covered with “I believe in fairies” and pliés during the coming months, on selected dates. In “Ballet of Lights” all spectators are a little Peter Pan… if they manage to book in time, because places are limited, so make sure you get your tickets before they run out!
Ballet of Lights: bringing Peter Pan to Madrid
The adventure, magic and rebellion of one of the most famous stories in history join the elegance of ballet in this show where the story of Peter Pan has, for the first time, more lights than shadows. LED lights, specifically. Fictitious stars incorporated into the costumes of the six professional dancers that highlight each movement and make each scene unique. A shortened 60-minute version in which the limits of imagination are blurred (even more) with each dance step.
Peter Pan told through light, music and dance.
Edward Elgar already put music to Peter Pan in its classic version. And, later, Oscar winner Stephen Warbeck, Jorden Morris, Carmen DeLeone did the same in their more modern interpretations. Ballet is capable of telling stories through dance and music. And J. M. Barrie’s fairy tale has proven to be a great source of inspiration over the years.
A variety of composers and points of view that have led Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinkerbell to dance on stages all over the world, from Atlanta to Canada to Houston. And that now arrives with more light than ever in a unique dance show with “Ballet of Lights” and timeless themes such as Brahms‘ Hungarian Dance No. 5, Handel’s Sarabande or Mendelssohn’ s Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Peter Pan and the Darling brothers fly from London to the Círculo de Bellas Artes with “Ballet of Lights”. A unique show that, for one night and on selected dates, turns Madrid into Neverland amid LED lights, dancing and lots of magic. Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts, and seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis (within the section selected in the purchase process). Don’t you feel like growing up either? Shake it off and experience a night of rhythm and storytelling with Peter Pan in “Ballet of Lights.”
