. The variety of cribs that can be visited throughout the length and breadth of the Community of Madrid makes it possible that each year a route is proposed to know them. And even several. And if our intention was to visit the most original ones, a safe stop would be the Playmobil nativity scene and, another one, the one that takes us to the nativity scene in homage to Antonio Palacios.
The Galician architect and urban planner has been the object of recognition since the beginning of the year on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth, which will be celebrated this 2024. And among the actions to honor his legacy is this nativity scene, proposed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid in collaboration with the Association of Nativity Scenes of Madrid.
The latter has been in charge of the scenery, which has figures from various workshops in Olot (Gerona) of the first half of the twentieth century. In addition, as the headline says, this nativity has a curious peculiarity: the portal is none other than the templete de la Red de San Luis, designed by Palacios and returned to the Gran Vía a few years ago after its removal in 1970.
