It seems like it has been with us for all of human history, but it is actually a recent invention. We could be talking about anything (such as social networks), but it is actually a reference to cachopo, which was created at some undetermined time in the mid-twentieth century. The cachopo fever in Madrid
As in previous years, the event hosts more than just cachopo. You will also be able to taste other products such as fabadas, cheeses or rice pudding in what is, in a way, an ode to the Asturian product. There will also be live music and performances for the little ones.
The event is organized by the Guía del Cachopo, a body that is somehow to blame for the cachopo fever in Madrid. The Cachopo Guide has been spreading the word about this popular product for years thanks to contests that determine which are the best cachopos in Spain or Madrid. It had nothing to do with an anecdotal, but revealing fact about the popularity of this dish: when the Atocha station had a cachopos vending machine.
