Gastronomy and solidarity are also two elements that are joining hands in the face of the catastrophe that occurred in Valencia and other provinces last week. Many chefs (such as Ricard Camarena or Pepa Muñoz) have travelled to the most affected areas to feed thousands of families.
Another way in which these two concepts are allied will take place in an event organized by Agarimo, the Galician restaurant in the Ponzano area. It is called Callos solidarios and the name is a preview of what it is. Around one hundred kilos of tripe, as confirmed by Guillermo Rivera (owner of Agarimo) to Madrid Secreto, whose proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen.
How to get your ticket
The event in question will take place this Sunday between 13:00h and 17:00h in the Wololó space (street Miguel Yuste, 17) near the metro stop Suanzees. Tickets are already available at this link. The ticket costs 10€ and includes a tapa of tripe and a beer. You can participate without attending the event (just donating money). The event has the collaboration of Madre Amiga, which provides the bread, and Nakeima, which provides the inductions.
“We think there’s going to be a very practical conversion of what we raise, so we’re going to work with them,” Guillermo Rivera tells Madrid Secreto in reference to World Central Kitchen, the NGO founded in 2010 by chef José Andrés and dedicated to providing meals around the world in the face of natural disasters.
The space in question has also set up a place for the collection of materials. The accepted materials are contemplated in the Instagram publication, but they range from sleeping bags to thermal blankets through rubber brooms, soapy sponges, bandages, adhesive tape or wipes.
