When Lorenzo Caprile opened his first atelier in the Salamanca district (1993) he already had an impressive track record behind him: he had trained as a dressmaker in New York, learning from masters who exhibited their collections on Madison Avenue; he had completed his studies at the International Polytechnic of Fashion (Florence) and worked for major Italian brands such as Ratti o Chain.
More than thirty years after launching his first own collection, Caprile is known for dressing royalty and red carpet actresses. He is behind the dress worn by the Infanta Elena at her wedding, the famous red evening gown with which Queen Letizia captivated everyone at the wedding of the princes of Denmark, and many other looks scandalous looks.
Luckily for his fans (and lovers of haute couture), we have at Chamberí theCanal Isabel II Hall (Santa Engracia, 125), a free exhibition in which we will see some of his most iconic designs. The exhibition, named Caprile Lorenzo will be in the capital since autumn: from October 16 to March 30. It will be open to the public just a month after the Fashion Week madrid, an event of international fame that will bring together great figures from the world of fashion in September.
Caprile Lorenzo reflects the evolution of the couturier since his beginnings, as well as his sources of inspiration; in addition to fabulous garments, the exhibition will feature photographs, paintings and decorative objects that Caprile used to create unique designs.
