With hyperinflation, the fever for low-cost stores has spread in the Community of Madrid. Considering that Madrid families spend 16.35% of their annual salary at the supermarket, it never hurts to save a few cents on groceries, especially on those household cleaning and personal hygiene products that can’t be missed at home.
Alcalá Magna, one of the large shopping centers in Alcalá de Henares, will host from October 24 a new Normal store, the Danish chain of beauty, food and home care items that has not stopped expanding in Europe since it opened its first store in 2013.
Trendy products at flea market prices
Its slogan, ‘normal products at abnormal prices’, previews what we find in its stores: items from well-known brands such as L’Oréal, Maybelline, Dove, Nivea or Veet for a lower cost than in certain supermarkets.
Its labyrinth-shaped stores invite you to browse the shelves, where you can find everything from complete lines of viral hair and skin care products, such as ECO hair styling gels or Aussie shampoos, to tempting sweets, including Werther’s Original caramel popcorn or the famous Reese’s chocolates.
We can also see areas dedicated to cleaning products that have become trending through social networks (for example, the “miracle” Pink Stuff spray). There are even sections with items in mini format for long trips. And the best part: most of what is sold is under €10. Drinks and face masks for €1, notebooks from €2 and many other offers like these can be seen every day in their shop windows.
