Once a week, the Avenida de Asturias becomes one of those traditional street markets with offers that you don’t even see in El Rastro anymore. Between the streets San Aquilino and Vía Límite, shopping lovers can make an attractive tour of 300 stalls that boast clothes, fabrics, shoes, jewelry, flowers, toys and very curious decorative objects just a few meters from a very modern corner of the capital: Plaza de Castilla.
The Plaza de Castilla Market is open every Sunday and holidays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. While tourists get up early to immerse themselves in a neighborhood of La Latina (in which at the time of the Rastro is a real challenge to walk without going to the rhythm of a Nazarene in full procession), one of the commercial jewels that hides the District of Tetuan surprises visitors to the area, which can see tables full of products from fifty cents.
Skirts and pants from brands such as Pedro del Hierro, Zara or Pull and Bear, which usually cost around 20 € (pulling low) in stores, in the Avenida de Asturias we have them at 1 €. We also find bags and coats at 3€, books for 2€ and many other bargains. Most of the items sold here are second hand and have no warranty, but for the price they have, this is the least of it.
