Puerta 57 is much more than a restaurant: it is right in the stands of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. Its privileged views of the soccer field attract Madrid fans and executives from all over the world. Its 1,000 square meters house a luxurious bar that has been christened Cibeles; an elegant main room with high tables and minimalist decoration; a reserved area and a terrace that has not yet been opened to diners.
Opened twenty years ago and recently refurbished, this restaurant of the La Máquina group offers a sophisticated gastronomic experience. Its menu is based on traditional dishes, prepared with raw materials that are harvested directly from the place where they are produced. It combines seafood, wild fish, rice dishes and, of course, star classics, among which the cocido madrileño stands out.
How much does the cocido del tempo madridista cost?
“Our cocido follows the classic three-serving recipe: in the first, the broth, the result of slow cooking that extracts the best flavors of meats and garden vegetables, served with fine noodles; in the second, the chickpeas are presented along with a selection of vegetables that bring freshness and balance to the dish; and finally, in the third serving, the meats come together,” Ana Hueso, director of communications at La Máquina, explains to Madrid Secreto.
The dish is only served on Tuesdays in winter, and its price is somewhat higher than what is usually seen in other restaurants that have cocido as a specialty: 39€ per person. It should be noted that Puerta 57 offers, in addition to high quality gastronomy, a unique space: it is the first restaurant in Spain inside a stadium.
In addition to the cocido, the house recommends other dishes such as the special omelette with Oviedo tripe; the blue lobster salpicón; the Formentera-style lobster frittata or the Alaskan cod marinated in miso.
