The Prosperidad Market is not only an ideal place to get fresh food products. Besides going to fill the shopping cart, there you can enjoy a good breakfast in a small local chocolate shop San Ginés; buy new plants to decorate the house in the florist P’Alique; contemplate the window of the Quílez Jewelry (a favorite of the Royal House in the early twentieth century) and many other activities that appeal during a Saturday shopping.
This market usually organizes events for all audiences: tapas tours, free concerts of national artists, and even an April fair. It also celebrates the Day of the Dead, one of the most important dates in Mexico. This year, it will be held from Wednesday, October 23 to Sunday, October 27, and encourages all Prosperidad residents to sign up and wear their best Halloween costume.
The Fiesta de los Muertos will have colorful decorations and an altar inspired by the popular Mexican cults that coincide with All Saints’ Day. There will also be a photocall and a surprise gastronomic proposal that will include a tapa and drink offer for 5 euros. On Saturday, October 26, to liven up the week even more, mariachis will provide the soundtrack for the afternoon.
