Being a seaport it makes all the sense in the world that Vallecas celebrates Carmen Festivities, but it makes even more sense that Vallekas celebrates, one more year, its self-managed version: Festivities of La Karmela 2024. The homonymous Festivities Commission has already announced the dates -from July 11 to 14- and the program for these “popular and combative” neighborhood festivities, because as the people of Vallekas know well, celebration is not incompatible with the fight.
This 2024 commemorate 20 years “building a neighborhood festival for everyone”, with values -that’s why this year’s slogan is a message of solidarity with Palestine-, and thanks to the work and heart of all those involved in them have taken a very powerful program of what, they never tire of remembering, “is not a festival”: they are the popular festivities of Vallekas.
Among the activities, to name just a few, are numerous free concerts parades, parades, popular and aquatic games and unmissable events such as its legendary Battleship.
