Christmas is just around the corner and many municipalities are already starting to light up. The capital will do it this weekend, on Saturday, November 22, with an event at the Cibeles Palace to inaugurate the lighting.
Pozuelo de Alarcón, located to the northwest of Madrid, will also dedicate a special day to switch on its lights. It will take place on Friday, November 28, with free chocolate with churros, lanterns will be thrown and Christmas music will be played.
Once again, the City Council organizes this event to celebrate the arrival of Christmas, which will begin at 18:30 pm in the Park Mayor Martin-Crespo. They encourage all neighbors to attend and participate in it, as well as visitors who wish to come and immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit.
Dozens of lights in the sky

One of the great attractions of the lighting of lights in Pozuelo are the small balloons that are launched into the sky. These are flying, biodegradable lanterns that have a small light inside and when they rise they turn into sparkles.
The visual effect is quite magical and reminiscent of Disney movies such as Tangled, in the scene where the main characters are in a boat during the kingdom festival. These lights also signify good wishes for Christmas and balloons will be distributed among the attendees so that they can participate in the tradition.
Churros and a rociero choir

During the lighting, attendees will be able to enjoy the classic churros with free chocolate, an ideal accompaniment for these dates in which the cold begins to have more presence.
The music will be provided by the Choir of the Brotherhood of El Rocío, which will perform traditional carols with flamenco style, marking the rhythm to the sound of clapping and cajón. Thus, they will invite the public to dance, sing the popular songs and join the festive atmosphere.
Visiting Pozuelo at Christmas

The full program for Christmas in Pozuelo has not yet been released, but normally it usually features Christmas stalls, ice rinks, the traditional Three Kings parade and cultural programming for all ages.
In any case, the 2025 Christmas lights will be on display from November 28th and, from then on, the rest of the activities will be announced.
To get to Pozuelo de Alarcón by car, the most direct way is to take the M-30 or the M-503 that connects directly with the municipality. In the case of public transport, you can take the C-7 or C-10 commuter line from downtown, the intercity buses from Moncloa (lines 656, 657, 658) or the Metro Ligero (ML2 and ML3) from Colonia Jardín.
