More than 70,000 people attended the last edition of this event, which is being held in the Plaza de Cibeles for the third consecutive year. The Resurrection Festival is a musical festival organized by the Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP) to celebrate the end of Holy Week, which this year falls on April 26.
That Easter Sunday at 18:30 h will begin the concerts that will be free access. Among the artists who will perform this year, the headliners are the Colombian urban music group Cali & El Dandee and the Sevillian singer-songwriter, Beret.
A Catholic festival in the heart of Madrid
In addition to more well-known artists, there will also be performances by musicians more closely linked to the Catholic environment. This phenomenon is quite recent in Spain, although it has been happening for decades in countries like the United States, where Christian artists have a wide following.
Kike Pavón, with almost a million followers on Instagram, is the great exponent of this new Catholic wave of pop music, which is also joined by Hakuna Group Music. This group was born as a result of a Catholic foundation with the same name, which is focused on activities with young people. Their big hit was the song Huracán, which has 10 million plays on YouTube. They will also count this year with DJPulpo, the announcer of the program Poniendo las calles of Cadena COPE, who is a regular at events of this kind.
In previous editions, the big media surprise was the participation of Father Guilherme, the Portuguese priest who has managed to bring electronic music to this conservative audience. This time his performance has not been announced neither in the poster nor in the ACdP communiqué.
