There is little consolation in being forced to stay in Madrid during the months when there are the fewest overnight stays. The sensation of facing an empty and different city with the great stimulation of the verbenas of august and with the added possibility of free parking in zones where you usually pay -if you know how.
The SER Zone (Regulated Parking Service) is re-signified during the month of August. Hours are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Saturday in August -except on holidays and weekends, when parking is free. In other words: parking is free every weekday evening, as well as on Sundays and public holidays – on the 11th, 15th, 18th and 25th it will be free to park.
Prices and discounts for parking in Madrid
It should be noted, by the way, that the same price remains the same for the six hours (as opposed to the usual twelve) when parking is paid:
- Verde Zone: 0.90 for half hour parking and goes up to 2.05 for one hour parking
- Blue Zone: 0,40 for half hour parking and 1,10 for one hour parking
In addition, there are different bonuses for certain vehicles. Those with a C label receive a 10% discount and ECO vehicles receive a 75% discount. While B-labeled vehicles receive a 20% surcharge.
The Verde zones, on the other hand and as always, allow a maximum of two hours of parking for non-residents of the neighborhood – residents, on the other hand, can park for free and unlimited. In the blue Zone the maximum parking time is four hours.
As soon as September starts, it is back to the usual schedule: payable from 9am to 9pm from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. Free days are Sundays and holidays.
