Among the melting pot of cultures that make up Madrid’s gastronomy, there are two big winners: Japanese and Italian restaurants. However, this does not prevent the emergence of new proposals such as Georgian restaurants.
Beyond the link created by the boxer Ilia Topuria between the two countries, until a few years ago it was difficult to find Georgian gastronomy in Madrid, but now there are a few attractive options. The interesting thing about its culinary tradition is that as a good Caucasian country, its cuisine has Asian influences without losing its European side.
Nunuka
Nunuka is proud to have made Georgian gastronomy fashionable in Madrid. This cozy bistro, located in the Chueca neighborhood, founded by Nino Kiltava, has managed to attract the most traditional tastes with the authentic flavors of the Caucasus, highlighting emblematic dishes such as khachapuri, a bread stuffed with cheese and egg, or khinkali, small bags of cooked dough with different fillings. Two classics of its cuisine.
Nunuka’s success lies not only in its cuisine, which fuses Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences, but also in its warm atmosphere and its selection of Georgian wines.
