Could it be that padel is living its golden moment? At least in Madrid, yes. The year 2026 will start with the celebration of the third edition of the professional sport tournament Hexagon Cup which will be played at the Caja Mágica from January 28 to February 1. This competition, in addition to bringing together the best players in the world with promising young players, adds another great attraction: the teams are sponsored by celebrities (and not all of them come from the world of sports). Such is the case of Eva Longoria, Kun Agüero, Pierre Gasly or Lewandowski.
Which padel players are competing in the Hexagon Cup? At the moment, we know that 18 of the 20 best players in the world will participate, who have already confirmed their attendance (eight of the men’s top ten and the entire women’s top ten). Among them we find Agustín Tapia, Arturo Coello, Gemma Triay, Delfina Brea…
Who are the famous owners of the padel teams?
Each of the eight teams is made up of three pairs, one male, one female and another pair of young promises that form new couples, that is to say: a swing of different styles and generations that provides an extra point of excitement. In addition, these teams have owners who are celebrities in their own fields (and not necessarily in the world of sports).
This is the case of Eva Longoria and Dani Homedes with their ElevenEleven team, or Carlos López Lay and María Esteve with Team Bella from Puerto Rico. In soccer, Robert Lewandowski leads the RL9 Team, while Kun Agüero and Gabriel Pérez (reigning champions) continue with KRÜ Padel and announce an important addition to their ranks, the Portuguese player Sofía Araújo.

From the world of tennis and other sports, Andy Murray and Anthony Joshua head the AD/Vantage Team. The runner-up Rafa Nadal Academy returns to compete led by Maribel Nadal (Rafa Nadal’s sister).
In the field of motorsports, Pierre Gasly, together with Loïc Fery (owner of FC Lorient in France), founded the 10 Padel team. Finally, the Hexagon team stands out because the decisions and the choice of players are made directly by the fans through social networks (padel players Carmen Goenaga and Fran Guerrero are already part of this team).
How does Hexagon Cup work?
The tournament of Hexagon Cup is divided into three categories: men’s, women’s and Next Gen, that is, the competition of new promises that, in 2026, will be exclusively male. Each victory scores points in the different categories (two points for men’s and women’s; one point for Next Gen matches). Qualifying matches are played from Wednesday to Saturday and the grand final is played on Sunday.
