Every year with the arrival of autumn and winter many plans focus on avoiding the cold: taking refuge in a museum to visit an exhibition, attending a play or a concert are some of the options. However, the range of outdoor possibilities is not far behind and ice skating rinks become as ephemeral a part of the urban landscape as they are characteristic at this time of year.
So much so that some of them have already announced their opening, as is the case of the large ice rink that will be installed for the second consecutive year by the company La Navideña in Plaza de España. It will be 450 square meters of rink that will remain open from next Friday, November 25 until January 8, 2023.
As for the tickets, they will go on sale soon and, as reported by the company in their social networks, they will do so “both at the box office on opening day and on the web”.
In addition to the ice rink, as was the case last year, booths will be installed for the celebration of a Christmas market where you can find craft stalls or gastronomy.
Since it was inaugurated in November last year after the remodeling works, the Plaza of Spain has been occupied on multiple occasions by companies organizing events. And with its declaration in April as a “fairground” by the district of Moncloa, it will continue to be so almost every other day for at least a year, as reported in this information from El País signed by Manuel Viejo.
What other Christmas plans return at the end of November?
At the end of November several Christmas events are scheduled to coincide in the city, such as the switching on of the Christmas lights. As confirmed by the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, it will be on November 24 at 7 p.m.: one day before the start of Black Friday, when EMT buses will be free again.
Around that date, the return of Naviluz, the Christmas bus, is also scheduled to take place, and it has already been confirmed that November 25 will be the starting day of the Christmas Market in Plaza Mayor.
