It’s a spot in a trendy neighborhood, yes, but with the soul of a contemporary eatery rather than a pretentious hotspot.
From a go-to restaurant to a “Solete de los famosos”
José Mota’s choice of Silk fits perfectly with the spirit of the Repsol Guide’s new “Celebrities’ Soletes”: more than 250 affordable spots, scattered throughout Spain, recommended by artists and cultural figures who suggest them as places “for friends.” In this new edition, more than 60 familiar faces (actors, musicians, TV hosts, writers, and comedians) have shared the bars, beach bars, outdoor cafes, and eateries where they stop during tours, film shoots, or vacations.
The Repsol Guide has compiled a list of places ranging from beach bars right on the water to charming neighborhood bars: Antonio Resines recommends El Mirador and Trasvía in Comillas (Cantabria); Toni Acosta recommends Casa África in Taganana (Tenerife); Carlos Sobera recommends La Loma in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz); and the band Alcalá Norte recommends the Crítico burger joint in Ciudad Lineal (Madrid), to name just a few examples.
