We bring you the schedule of upcoming concerts in Madrid. From here we draw several conclusions: the idea of doing one (or two, or three dates) in a big arena is in fashion for both established artists and new bands. The live music craze is real and we hope it is, also, authentic. And a note: let’s get used to the new name of WiZink Center, which is now officially Movistar Arena.
In this list there are tour closures of international bands, unexpected tributes, the odd festival, small emerging groups that are starting to sound in the mythical Madrid venues and that you can’t miss before they become very famous… Take note!
Table Of Contents
Concerts of the month of February 2025
Franz Ferdinand (February 17)
Let’s put it this way: Franz Ferdinand don’t know what it is to get old. They continue to be one of the most prolific bands (as far as live performances are concerned) and in each one the energy is overflowing, incredibly enveloping. Impossible not to fall at their feet, one more night at La Riviera.
Where? La Riviera:Paseo Bajo de la Virgen del Puerto, S / N, (Arganzuela)
Ela Minus (February 18)
Ela Minus is Gabriela Jimeno. She started her career shyly on Soundcloud, uploading her creations under the name Tiny Dance, a little dance, no more. And what started as an innocent inside joke, has become practically a genre of its own that reinterprets a peculiar, delicate, whimsical, wonderful synth pop.
Tickets: from 20 €
Where? Sala Nazca in Orense street, 24 (Tetuán)
Quevedo
We have to admit it. Quédate is already a classic, a percussive melody in our head. A song that sounds everywhere even years after having gone viral beyond all expectations. The artist from the Canary Islands returns to Madrid in February with a triple bill at Movistar Arena (he will play on February 17, 18 and 19).
Tickets: from 45€
Where? Movistar Arena: Avenida de Felipe II S/N (Goya)
Jay Jay Johanson (February 19)
In the context of the MAZO concert series, Jay Jay Johanson comes to Madrid this February to present his intricate universe, full of nooks and crannies, surprises. The sound of the Swede is indescribable (at least in a few words) traveling from trip hop to jazz through the influences of film noir on his compositions .
Where? Sala BUT: Calle de Barceló, 11 (Malasaña)
Ortiga (February 21)
How we love Ortiga. We love it, it elevates us, it makes us better (we are exaggerated but…). The Galician brings “A nosa verbena” ( “our verbena”) to a classic venue in Madrid, the Sol, claiming cumbia, Latin electro, merengue … but always from the present and innovative. Let’s go, a good party.
Where? Sala Sol, in Calle de los jardines, 3 (Downtown).
Amaia (February 23)
Amaia makes us better people. And don’t call us exaggerated: such a natural presence, so simple but not simple, so pure in her contradictions as in her oddities… and all this, she expresses it in “strange” songs, which are not distant at all. They bring us closer to feelings, to simple things and to the beauty of details from an absolutely overwhelming and almost supernatural voice. Amaia, we love you.
Tickets: from 38,50 €.
Where: Movistar Arena: Avenida de Felipe II S/N (Goya)
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (February 23)
The 2000s (and the millennials) are in fashion, this is what we can say about the return of The Pains Of Being Pure at Heart, one of the most iconic indie rock bands of two decades ago. Lula Club will be the venue where the mythical New York band will celebrate fifteen years of their liminal album. Good shoegaze, good guitar. We can’t wait.
Where? Lula Club. Gran Vía, 54 (Downtown)
julie (February 24)
And if we talk about The Pains of Being Pure at Heart as the comeback that noise lovers need, this band is the confirmation that shoegaze has also returned to the forefront among new bands: julie is the shoegaze as ever, without additives and with a lot of distortion. They will also play at Primavera Sound and at the Outbreak festival in Manchester. And the latter is pure seal of quality.
Tickets:20€
Where: Sala Clamores, in Alburquerque street, 14 (Bilbao)
Carolina Durante (February 28)
Carolina Durante have made a tremendous album: Elige tu propia aventura will be presented at the Movistar Arena with their sharp lyrics and the confidence of those who know they are doing things well, very well.
Tickets: from 38,50 €.
Where: Movistar Arena: Avenida de Felipe II S/N (Goya)
Baiuca (February 27th and 28th)
What an indisputable quality of Galician music. Baiuca returns to their second home, Madrid, with two dates (one is already sold out) to present their album Barullo.
Where will they play? La Riviera:Paseo Bajo de la Virgen del Puerto, S / N, (Arganzuela)
March concerts preview
Cariño (March 2)
María Talaverano, Paola Rivero and Alicia Ros are the underground pop divas of this country. We say so. Their version of Llorando en la limo by C Tangana is just a hint of what they achieve with their lo fi sound and their funny, irreverent, fresh lyrics.
Where? La Riviera:Paseo Bajo de la Virgen del Puerto, S / N, (Arganzuela)
Marc Scibilia (March 4)
Raised in Buffalo but living in Tennessee, Marc Scibilia ‘s veins run through the purest and most authentic folk music. One of his songs went viral in the series Bones, How Bad We Need Each Other; but regardless of whether it sounds familiar or not, we recommend listening to one of the voices of the moment in the United States.
Tickets: from 25 €
Where? Sala Copernico, on Calle Fernandez de los Rios, 67 (Moncloa)
Lucky Love (March 4)
What an overwhelming personality, what a style and what a flow. Lucky Love is Luc Bruyère ‘s project inspired by his cabaret past but also by the voracious criticism of toxic masculinities and the vindication of characters marginalized by society. Lucky Love is nominated for the Victoires de la Musique 2025 Awards in the category ‘Male Revelation’.
Tickets: from 25€.
Where: Sala Changó, Calle de Covarrubias, 42 (Chamberí)
2hollis (March 6)
From Chicago to the world: Hollis Frazier-Herndon is the person behind the 2hollis project. A style that comes from the most traditional trap to become something avant-garde, closer to trap grime and catchy electronic bases. We will only tell you: listen to the song gold. Wait for 1.29. MAGIC.
Tickets:from 21€.
Where: Sala Nazca in Orense street, 24 (Tetuán)
Pignoise & Friends (March 7)
Two decades on stage, 20 years of career: Pignoise are celebrating this 2025 and they do it with a concert at Movistar Arena that will serve to look back and remember the great songs that have positioned them where they are. They will be accompanied by friends who will also be on stage on March 7th: Loquillo, Hombres G, Rulo, Marlon, Taburete, Los Secretos and Hens.
Tickets: from 30 €.
Where: Movistar Arena: Avenida de Felipe II S/N (Goya)
Peter Hook & The Light (March 7th)
The darks are back. In truth, it never left here. We are in a moment of renaissance of the dark sounds. Not in vain, The Cure have just released a new album, The Horrors are back on stage with a new line-up… and Peter Hook, one of the fathers of darkness (we are talking about the former Joy Division bassist) is coming to Madrid accompanied by his band, The Light (pure irony). In this concert, he will play songs from Substance by New Order and Joy Division, such as Blue Monday, Bizarre Love Triangle or Temptation.
Where: Sala Shôko, Calle de Toledo, 86 (La Latina).
Concerts in the Chapel of the Teatro Real (March 10, 14, 16 and 31)
The Chapel of the Teatro Real will host four concerts this March as part of the International Festival of Sacred Art (FIAS). On March 10, Ayres Extemporae will perform Esbarme Dich!, a program that explores sin, mercy and forgiveness through the music of Locke, Biber and Bach; on March 14, Ars Atlántica will present Amor humano, amor divino; on March 16, Ballarte Ensemble will offer El gran teatro del mundo, a version of Calderón de la Barca’s auto sacramental; on March 31, Leonor de Lera will perform Arcadia, with pieces inspired by the mythological Arcadia. L
📍 Where?Real Alcázar de Madrid (Centro)
💸 Admission: from 22€.
Tokio Hotel (March 12)
Buf, this nostalgia thing is taking us to totally unexpected lands. Tokio Hotel (please, who doesn’t know Monsoon?) are back after ten years and with a track record of success that translates into more than 10 million records sold.
Where are they playing? La Riviera: Calle de Fernández de los Ríos, 67 (Moncloa)
Porridge Radio (March 19th)
From Brighton, they will visit us in March Porridge Radio. One of those bands that scratches the skin in every song, that indexes with their guitars and their compositions in feelings that bloom without stridency but from the pure viscera. Buf, you have to go to see them.
Tickets: from 22 €
Where? Sala Copernico, in the street of Fernandez de los Rios, 67 (Moncloa)
Carly Gibert (March 20)
The Catalan singer is avant-garde, surprise, irreverence. Carly is part of that select group of composers who transcend the limits of the pop genre. She comes to Madrid to present the four-song EP THANK GOD THINGS CHANGE.
Tickets: from 18 €
Where? Clamores, in Albuquerque street, 14 (Chamberí)
El Último Vecino (March 21)
Gerard Alegre Dòria’s voice takes us inevitably to Manolo García and El último de la fila. On the other hand, the music of El Último Vecino goes off on a pop tangent and takes us to a Synth-pop closer to New wave, classic, danceable, essential. Waiting to sing along with them that “Yo por ti seré culebra”.
Where: Sala Sol, at 3, Calle de los jardines (Downtown).
Oracle Sisters (March 24)
They come from Paris with a retro pop under their arm. Oracle Sisters is the French trio who have been able to pick up the sounds of pop from the past, making them contemporary, elegant and fun. As Primavera Tours says, you will like them if you like Chris Cohen or Drugdealer.
Tickets: from 18 €.
Where: Sala Sol, at Calle de los jardines, 3 (Centro)
DJ Gigola (March 27)
How to explain what DJ Gigola does, if it is a mix between bakala and something that can sound like Crazy Frog at certain times. Her sessions are absolutely energetic, fun, magical. We met her at Sónar Día 2024, in an afternoon session that could well have been at 9 am in an after-hours club on Cerámica street. What a madness. We love you. We are completely ricaricatas with you.
Tickets: from 23 €
Where? Mondo Session at Cocó (Calle Alcalá, 20; Centro)
Zeal & Ardor (March 27th)
Zeal & Ardor is the middle ground at that complicated crossroads between blues and metal. Two genres that could almost be defined as antagonistic if it were not for the existence of bands like this one, which will present GREIF, their new album, in March.
Tickets: from 24 €.
Where: Sala Mon, 36 Hilarión Eslava Street (Chamberí).
MIKE (March 27)
Hip hop fans know that something very big will happen in March in Madrid. The arrival of MIKE is a long awaited live performance for the most “cafeteros”. The American has already risen to the title of great promise of the genre and will prove it with his rhymes in the Villanos.
Tickets: from 18 €.
Where: Sala Villanos, at 18, Bernardino Obregón St. (Embajadores)
