On the occasion of the Spanish Cinema Day, which is commemorated every October 6th, a new edition of Madrid Distrito en Corto starts today and until October 25th: a free film series in which Goya award-winning short films will be screened.
The screenings, organized by the Madrid City Council in collaboration with the Short Film Industry Association (AIC), will be distributed in 17 of the 21 districts of the capital.
For the occasion, four Spanish short films, winners of the Goya awards, have been selected and will be shown in a total of 27 municipal venues, including cultural centers and libraries.
Which short films will be screened in Madrid Distrito en Corto?
The works chosen for this season of the free cycle Madrid Distrito en Corto are the following:
- A la cara, by Javier Marco. Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film 2021.
- La increíble historia del hombre sin sombra, by José Esteban Alenda. Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film 2009.
- Emotional Architecture 1959, by León Siminiani. Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film 2023.
- Dreams, by Daniel Guzmán. Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film 2004.

In the last date of this event, which took place last June, the short films screened were Juan y la nube ( by Giovanni Maccelli), Timecode (by Juanjo Giménez), Loop (by Pablo Polledri) and Madre ( by Rodrigo Sorogoyen).
