The new aid to families with children that the City Council of the capital has launched with the aim of promoting the birth rate can already be applied for in Madrid. This is the first call for direct aid of this kind that the City Council of Madrid has launched.
The measure, which is included in the Plan for the Promotion of Birth Rate and Conciliation 2024-2029, will benefit the families of “children born or adopted in the city of Madrid between June 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026“.
As regards the amount that each family will receive, it will increase according to the number of children: it will be 500 euros for the first child, 750 euros for the second and 1,000 euros for the third -and those that come after-.
How to apply for the new aid?

The application period for the new aid for families with children opened last Tuesday, November 4 and will close on October 31, 2026. Applications may be submitted within a maximum period of two months, counting from the day after the birth or adoption has taken place.
The application form can be filled in through this link. Once it is done, it will be necessary to present it at the City Hall Registry electronically or in person. In the latter case, it must be submitted at the Línea Madrid Citizen Service Offices.
What happens to children born between June 1 and November 3, 2025?
Families who are in this casuistry will also be able to apply for the aid: they will also have two months to carry out the procedure, starting to run the calendar from November 4 (first day in which the aid could be applied for).
Requirements for parent applicants
- To be Spanish or foreigner with legal residence in Spain.
- Be registered in the capital for at least five years and not be deprived of parental custody of their children.
- Not be subject to any of the causes of prohibition to access the status of beneficiary established in paragraph 2 of Article 13 of the General Law on Subsidies, with the exceptions provided for in the call.
A budget of 17 million Euros
The Madrid City Council will allocate a total of 17.3 million euros to this first aid package, an amount that, according to the consistory, “could be increased depending on the demand“.
The deputy mayor, Inmaculada Sanz, has pointed out that the subsidy “is compatible with others planned for the same purpose promoted by other administrations, public or private entities”, and says that it means “an unequivocal message” that “Madrid celebrates and protects paternity, maternity and the family”.
