While online tickets for the most central pools in Madrid are sold out almost daily in minutes, there are some on the outskirts that, not being so well known and being in areas where there are many private pools, remain in the calm of semi-discovery. This is the case of the Angel Nieto Municipal Sports Complex, in Boadilla del Monte, which has become one of the summer surprises for those seeking to escape the heat and crowds of Madrid without giving up a natural environment and quality facilities.
Just 24 kilometers from the center of the capital, this public swimming pool has a large expanse of green areas, recently revitalized with a drainage system that keeps the grass cool and comfortable throughout the summer, making it an ideal place to lie in the shade -without worrying about the mud or the lack of space- and enjoy with family or friends. The complex also has a 900 square meter silica sand beach under the shelter of pine trees, creating an authentic beach atmosphere without leaving Madrid.
The aquatic facilities are adapted to all publics: from a circular children’s pool designed for the little ones, a medium-sized one for relaxation, to an Olympic pool with a continuous swimming lane and the rest reserved for recreational swimming.

The extra of the swimming pools in Boadilla
The enclave is completed with a restaurant-barbecue with independent access, also available for those who do not use the pools, which extends its hours until midnight, allowing to extend the day in the cool and under the summer sky. There is also the restaurant of the club across the street, El Lago, where you can have a drink right on the water’s edge.
Getting to the Ángel Nieto Complex is easy: in just 23 minutes by car on the M-40 or by bus 573 from Moncloa -with a stop near the complex-. Access to the municipal swimming pool of Boadilla del Monte is available until September 7, from 12:00 to 20:00, every day.
