Amid vintage trains that transport us to another era , one of Europe’s most iconic flea markets takes place : the Mercado de Motores, an event with over a decade of history that is held on the second weekend of every month at the Madrid Railway Museum (Paseo de las Delicias, 61).
This weekend, June 13–14, marks the latest edition—the season’s finale—where visitors can discover original clothing, home decor, accessories, toys, and unique gifts among the artisan stalls that will be set up there over the course of these two days.
More specifically, brands such as Hammels Sunglasses, Martison, Dr.ueee (screen printing), Bluetta Cookies, Docamar’s legendary salsa brava, fashion from Sawadee and Blowfish, and jewelry from Diurna will be present.
Experiences, activities, and cuisine at the Mercado de Motores
In addition to the artisan stalls, throughout the weekend you can enjoy various activities and cultural offerings: concerts, abstract art workshops on fans or kokedama, face painting for the little ones, dance classes…
To recharge your batteries, there will not only be food stalls where you can buy and sample products—such as the now-classic cheese tastings at La Mueda—but also food trucks offering a variety of dining options.
Hours and tickets for the Mercado de Motores on June 13 and 14
Although admission to the Mercado de Motores is completely free, you must reserve a spot in advance. You can do so via this link, and for safety reasons and to manage capacity, you must present your ticket to enter the venue.
The only exception applies to children under 12, for whom it will not be necessary to purchase a ticket in advance. Additionally, the market’s hours will be as follows:
- Saturday, June 13: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sunday, June 14: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
For the next edition of the Mercado de Motores, we’ll have to wait until the weekend of September 12–13, when it returns after the summer break.
