Ice skating -or simply trying not to fall, as the case may be- is one of the most popular activities during the Christmas season: you only have to go to any of the rinks that dot different parts of the region to see for yourself. And to those already in operation will be added, from this Friday December 6, the Matadero ice rink: one of the largest in Spain.
Located in the district of Arganzuela, this outdoor ice rink has earned that title for the 600 square meters that occupy its facilities. It will remain open, as we said, from this Friday December 6 until next January 6, 2025.
To make the picture even more Christmasy, from December 20 until January 3 “snow” every day from 18h in Matadero, one of the epicenters of Christmas in Madrid that, by the way, this year is centenary.
Prices of the Matadero ice rink
The price of the passes, which have a duration of 30 minutes, is 6,50€ and includes the rental of skates. It is mandatory to wear gloves and, if you do not have your own, you can buy a pair for 1,60€.
As for the support elements for the little ones, they cost 2€ and helmets are provided free of charge. Tickets can be purchased both directly at the box office and on the website that the City of Madrid has enabled for Christmas.
