Madrid is gearing up for one of the year’s major sporting events with the 2026 FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER SPANISH GRAND PRIX, which will take place September 11–13. The arrival of Formula 1® in the capital will not only transform the area around IFEMA Madrid and the MADRING circuit; it will also have a special presence on public transportation, with commemorative cards, a map designed to facilitate access, and a clothing collection inspired by the Madrid subway and the race.
Metro de Madrid and the Madrid Regional Transportation Consortium have designed a special plan for race days, featuring specific information, enhanced service, and various limited-edition products intended both for those attending the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix and for collectors and Formula 1® enthusiasts.
50,000 cards to take home as a souvenir

The cards will be available at some of the network’s busiest stations, such as Sol, Gran Vía, Nuevos Ministerios, and Feria de Madrid, as well as at the region’s main transit hubs. Since this is a limited edition, it is expected to be one of the most sought-after items among Formula 1® fans and collectors of special designs for the Madrid transit card.
The initiative will also include a special Metro map dedicated to Formula 1®. The map will show the complete MADRING track layout, the most recommended stations for accessing the venue, and the various transportation options available to attendees.
The information will also detail the approximate walking times from the stations to the circuit’s various entrances. This is particularly useful for a large-scale event, where knowing in advance the entrance gate, the most convenient station, and the final route can save time and avoid crowds before the practice sessions, qualifying, and the race.
More frequent service on key lines
The massive influx of spectators over the three days of the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix will require a significant increase in service. The Community of Madrid has announced increases of up to 250% on Metro lines 4, 5, and 8 during peak demand periods.
Line 8 will play a particularly important role by connecting Nuevos Ministerios with Feria de Madrid, one of the key stations for reaching MADRING. To accommodate the increase in ridership, six-car trains will operate on this line, increasing its usual capacity by 50%.
T-shirts, hoodies, and caps
Formula 1® will also be featured on apparel. During the race days, special customer service stations set up at Feria de Madrid and Nuevos Ministerios will facilitate the purchase of products from a new collection inspired by the auto racing series. Among the announced items are T-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps that blend graphic elements characteristic of Metro de Madrid with references to the MADRING circuit and the world of racing.
Official merchandise is available at El Corte Inglés locations on Castellana, Princesa, Campo de las Naciones, Callao, Goya, Sanchinarro, and Pozuelo, among other retail outlets associated with the event. During the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix, there will also be official retail spaces at the exterior entrances to MADRING, including the Feria de Madrid station.
