The Achaemenid Empire was one of the most powerful empires of the Ancient Age. With the foundation of Persepolis, its capital (today converted into impressive ruins), the artistic traditions of the territory we now call Iran went around the world. Today, the geometric designs and intense colors so characteristic of its architecture and craftsmanship continue to inspire decorators from East and West.
To raise awareness of the Persian cultural influence, the Persepolis Center will once again organize Isfahan in Madrid, its bazaar with typical products from the Eastern country. The market can be visited from Friday, December 6 to Wednesday, December 18, just before Christmas officially begins.
Hand-woven carpets, ceramic pieces, miniatures, handmade jewelry and many other exotic treasures will be waiting for us at number four Esquilache Street, headquarters of the Persepolis Intercultural Association.
The Persepolis Cultural Association is a non-profit organization that gives visibility to the artists of the Iranian people through exhibitions, musical recitals and free conferences. It also offers support for cultural and tourist visits between Spain and Iran.
The association’s Persian market is already almost a tradition in Chamberí: this year is the sixteenth edition, which will once again seduce us with a perfect space to buy truly exotic Christmas gifts.
