The La Viña de Entrevías park has reopened its doors after eight months of works that have turned it into a more accessible, sustainable space designed for the enjoyment of all residents. The renovation, promoted by the Urban Planning, Environment and Mobility Area, has involved an investment of 1.1 million euros and has changed the image of its 43,693 square meters.
The improvements include the planting of 67 new trees and more than 8,000 shrubs, selected for their low allergenic potential and their adaptation to the Madrid climate. In addition, a new efficient irrigation system and permeable paving make the park greener and more resilient to heat and rain.
Accessibility and design for all

The renovation has placed special emphasis on making all the paths and areas of the park accessible without barriers. Slopes have been softened, stairs have been redesigned and six new itineraries have been created, taking advantage of paths already consolidated by the passage of neighbors. The pavements change according to use: drainage pavers, hydraulic paving tiles in the water areas, river sand in the sports courts and rubber in the adapted children’s areas.
The sustainable drainage system, with infiltration ditches and modular tanks, makes it possible to better manage rainwater and maintain the vegetation in optimal conditions.
New spaces for leisure and sports

The renovated La Viña park now offers areas designed for all ages. There is an accessible children’s area with inclusive games, a bio-healthy area for low-impact exercise – much used by the elderly – and a calisthenics area on earthen pavement for fans of outdoor training. Benches, chess tables and fountains complete the rest areas.
