Rock in Rio has been putting the talent of the greats of music on stage for years. Who remembers Amy Winehouse in its Madrid edition in 2008? Iconic. Next summer it’s Portugal’s turn: on June 20, 21, 27 and 28, the Rock in Rio festival will return to Lisbon. Tickets are already on sale.
The festival continues to reveal, little by little, the names of its 2026 edition. If a few weeks ago we announced the first confirmations with Katy Perry and the return of Linkin Park (with Emily Armstrong on vocals), now Rock in Rio Lisbon doubles the bet by adding to its line up heavyweights of rock and hip-hop: Rod Stewart, Kaiser Chiefs and Cypress Hill, among others.

Just an hour and a half flight separates Madrid from a festival that will bring Katy Perry back to the peninsula: the American singer has scheduled two stops in Spain this November (Madrid and Barcelona) on her tour The Lifetimes Tour. But they will not be the only dates of the singer in these lands because on June 20 she will return to the Iberian Peninsula to headline Rock in Rio Lisbon 2026.
On the same day, she will also perform Pedro Sampaio a Brazilian music producer, DJ and singer who mixes urban genres such as funk, pop, electronica, Brazilian sounds such as forró or piseiro? They will be joined by Calema, the brothers from Sao Tome and Principe specialized in making the audience dance with their Afropop and kizomba sounds (to understand the stratospheric phenomenon they caused in the Portuguese public, we recommend listening to A Nossa Vez); and Napa, the pop rock band from Madeira.

But don’t let the Santa Bárbara band overshadow an eclectic and international line-up: Linkin Park will perform on the second day of the festival. A highly anticipated live performance in this new stage of the band with the vocal cords of Emily Armstrong.
The festival has added new confirmations for this day. Joining the main stage will be Cypress Hill from Los Angeles, who will bring hip-hop classics such as Insane in the Brain, and Grandson, one of the new voices of alternative rock. At the same time, the Super Bock Stage will be headlined by the British Kaiser Chiefs: a perfect opportunity to let your voice be heard with anthems such as I Predict a Riot.

Attention, nostalgics! Rock in Rio Lisbon has christened this Saturday as the Rock Legends Day and the first headliner does not disappoint: Sir Rod Stewart, iconic British singer known for hits like Maggie May or Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? On this day there will also be room for Portuguese rock, which will receive a very special tribute with Xutos & Pontapés. The legendary band will invite to the stage other mythical groups from the Portuguese country, such as GNR, UHF and Táxi.
Rock in Rio Lisbon is gradually revealing the names of its 2026 edition. For the June 28th edition, we still have to wait.
