To celebrate the San Isidro festivities, the Plaza de las Comendadoras will once again host the Feria de la Cacharrería, where we will see handcrafted pieces from the most respected pottery centers in Spain. This 43rd edition will last five days: from Saturday, May 10 to Thursday, May 15.
In addition to handmade products, the fair will have children’s workshops and live demonstrations of different crafts (kneading, turning…). It will also boast a small exhibition with a focus on the art of pottery, in which each participating workshop will display an article made according to the pottery tradition of its geographical area.
Confirmed workshops for this 43rd edition
This year’s national participants include Alfar Arenas (Zamora); Vicente Alcaide Zeramika Studio (Vizcaya); Cerámica Granados (Córdoba); Taller Alfacer (Ávila); Unzueta Cerámica (A Coruña) and José Pajares Alfarería ( Cáceres).
Schedule of activities
The live exhibitions of pottery turning and decoration will be held on May 12, 13 and 14 from 5:00 p.m. onwards. On the other hand, workshops for children will be held on May 10, from 16:00 to 18:00 hours, and on May 11, from 11:00 to 13:00 hours.
