For a few days, Vallecas becomes a gastronomic meeting point with Galicia. Until November 23, this neighborhood hosts the Seafood Fair, with a wide variety of crustaceans, prawns, shrimps, clams, scallops and Galician-style octopus, among many other dishes.
The event is located in Rayo Vallecano street in Madrid, specifically in the parking lot of the sports city. It can already be visited and is open every day of the week, offering authentic Galician flavors for lunch or dinner.
From Galician octopus to Santiago’s cake

The Vallecas Seafood Fair is open from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm from Monday to Sunday. It started on October 30 and, since then, several customers have already been able to enjoy the typical Galician food they offer.
“Authentic Galician octopus, cooked to perfection and cut with care. It is on a bed of cachelos (typical Galician potatoes), sprinkled with paprika and with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.” This is how they describe on their Instagram one of their star dishes.
The gastronomic offer is closely linked to the sea, with all kinds of seafood, prawns, crab, lobster, prawns or spider crabs. You can also try razor clams, scallops, clams with garlic and white wine, mussels, pork shoulder or authentic Galician empanada .
For those looking for a sweet touch, there are desserts, including the traditional Santiago cake, a recipe made with almonds, sugar and egg, or the chocolate brownie .
How to qualify for a free mariscada

In addition to visiting the fair and paying for each elaboration, there is the opportunity to win a free mariscada. To do so, the organization has launched a sweepstakes through its Instagram and Facebook accounts.
The process to participate is simple and follows the usual dynamics in social networks. Those interested must give “like” to the publication of the draw, follow the profile of the Seafood Fair, comment on that same post and, if they wish, share it with friends.
A first winner was already announced last Sunday and they are currently raffling off a second free mariscada. The prize is open until Sunday, when the next lucky winner will be announced.
The dynamic of the raffle allows to generate expectation and increase the public’s desire to taste the Galician seafood of this fair in Vallecas. The atmosphere is also enhanced by live music, wine and a festive spirit, making it a gastronomic and social meeting point.
