The 2026 World Cup kicks off this Thursday, June 11, and just a few days later, on June 15, the Spanish men’s national soccer team will make its tournament debut against Cape Verde. This match, like the one on June 21 in which the national team will face off against Saudi Arabia, will be shown on a giant screen at the Yelmo Cinemas in Madrid.
The cinema chain announced this on Wednesday, stating that if the team continues to advance in the competition, it plans to continue “supporting the national team on the big screen with screenings of their upcoming matches.”
The broadcast of the 2026 World Cup, which is part of +Que Cine—an expansion of its offerings beyond movie premieres—will take place at all its theaters in Madrid (and in the other provinces where it operates), including Premium and Luxury locations as well as traditional ones.
To mark the event, Yelmo Cinemas will launch special packages that include a ticket and a meal, with prices ranging from €8.30 (for the traditional popcorn and soda combo) to €21.30 for the Luxury menu. The Premium menu (€14.30), the mid-range option, consists of a small popcorn, a soda, and a choice of main course.
