Spain heads into the final matchday of Group H with its job nearly done. Luis de la Fuente’s team leads the group with four points, the result of a scoreless draw against Cape Verde (0-0) and a rout of Saudi Arabia (4-0), and enters the match undefeated and without having conceded a single goal. La Roja needs just one point to secure first place.

They’ll face a Uruguay team fighting for its life. Marcelo Bielsa’s La Celeste has managed only draws in its first two matches—1-1 against Saudi Arabia and 2-2 against Cape Verde—and needs a win in Guadalajara to avoid relying on other teams’ results. The match pits the composure of a group leader against the desperation of a South American giant with its back against the wall.

On the physical front, Bielsa will be without center back Ronald Araújo due to injury and will also be unable to count on Giorgian de Arrascaeta. Spain, on the other hand, enters the match with virtually its entire first-team squad intact and no major changes to its starting lineup.

The Spain-Uruguay match will take place in the early hours of Saturday, June 27, following Friday, June 26. In mainland Spain, kickoff is at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday (1:00 a.m. in the Canary Islands), so it’ll be a late night.
