From now on, the residents of Arganzuela will have a new large supermarket. It is the new Lidl , whichwill open this Friday, January 23, and aims to become a new benchmark for shopping in the area.
The store will be located at 48 Paseo del Doctor Vallejo-Nájera, making it convenient for the neighborhoods of Imperial, Acacias, and La Latina. It will also have very long opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
More than 1,150 m²

The new Lidl will have a sales area of more than 1,150 square meters. It will stock the chain’s usual range of products, including fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish.
There will also be a bakery section with freshly baked bread and pastries , as well as refrigerated items, packaging, beverages, nuts, cosmetics, personal hygiene, and cleaning products, as reported by Lidl on its website.
There will be products from local suppliers and, of course, the themed weeks dedicated to international cuisine, which have become one of the brand’s main attractions, will continue .
Goodbye to endless queues

To facilitate the flow of customers and reduce waiting times, self-service checkouts and quick checkouts will be included. Lidl is thus taking another step forward in its modernization and commitment to customer convenience.
This is essential in districts such as Arganzuela, where the population density is high and shopping can take longer than expected. The width of the aisles will also contribute to better circulation among customers.
Lidl’s expansion

The new opening is part of Lidl’s growth plan in Spain, with which it aims to strengthen its presence in the country and maintain its sustainability criteria. It will contribute to the creation of new stable jobs and also to the purchase of national and regional products.
In fact, on January 30, the chain will open another store in Malaga, which will have 1,300 m² and similar conditions to the one in Madrid. In total, both investments have involved around €8 million and 68 new jobs.
