Guitarricadelafuente is an unusual success story: from recording videos at home with the microphone of his PlayStation to filling the Movistar Arena last October with a stellar appearance by Penélope Cruz and artists like Rosalía in the audience. The Benicense continues to tour presenting his second album, Spanish Leather. A tour that takes him through Europe, the United States, Latin America… and that will end, next October 2, 2026 with a farewell concert, again, at Movistar Arena. Tickets have just gone on sale.
The future looks promising for the Valencian, who in addition to his facet of singer and composer, will also open the doors of interpretation: Los Javis announced months ago (and in fact, they are already in the midst of filming) that Guitarricadelafuente would be one of the stars of their new feature film, along with Penélope Cruz, Carlos González, Lola Dueñas and Miguel Bernadeau. This film, La bola negra, is inspired by the play of the same name that García Lorca never finished and will tell the story of how to be a gay man in different times.
Farewell to Spanish Leather by Guitarricadelafuente at Movistar Arena
Álvaro Lafuente Calvo was born in Benicàssim and received, at the age of fifteen, a gift that would change the course of his life: an acoustic guitar. He began to play it without teachers, learning self-taught and wanting to emulate those artists that moved him. From uploading versions of those songs to his networks (such as Catalina, by Manuel Vallejo, a song that Rosalía also covered in her seminal album, Los Ángeles) to composing his own, only a couple of years went by. And with his own songs like Guantanamera, Sixtinain or El Conticinio, it all began: Guitarricadelafuente started.
It continued with an album called La Cantera, released in 2022; and with Spanish Leather, from 2025, and with which everything exploded. So much so that, to this day, rumors continue to circulate (although both have silenced them) that Guitarricadelafuente and Rosalía will have a collaborative song in the album of the Catalan, LUX. Not in vain, in the frustrated presentation of the album in Callao, Rosalía drove through the streets of Madrid while listening to songs by other artists, including a song by Álvaro Lafuente.
On October 2, 2026, an appointment for which there is one year left, will be the end of this stage, the Spanish Leather tour, a “Closing Chapter” that will mark the farewell of an artistic cycle before opening new horizons in her career.
