Pliny the Elder said that in wine is the truth (“In vino veritas”). And we are not going to contradict one of the most legendary historians. To honor Pliny and Bacchus, and above all the winemakers, Winers is being held this weekend at the Zarzuela Hippodrome. There are still tickets left, hurry up!
Which wineries will be present at Winers?
The aim of Winers is not only to drink wine: it is to offer an oenological experience around the best wines. To this end, in addition to the presence of great wineries and winemakers, touches of flavor will be added with gastronomic proposals, live music and sensations.
Why sensations? Wine is tasted by sight, differentiating the shades of color; by smell, analyzing the notes of each wine; and, of course, by taste, savoring the nuances and finding the differences, the astringency, the fruit, the mineral?
Among the big names in wine that will be present at Winers are the Torres family (a historic Penedès winery founded in 1870); Martínez Bujanda (a winemaking group with wines from up to five Spanish appellations of origin) and tastings led by experts from the Martín Códax winery (iconic winery in Cambados with Albariño grapes), Virgen de las Viñas (winery and oil mill in La Mancha that has been cultivating vines and olive trees since the 1960s); and Dos de Infantes winery (winery owned by the Moncayo family, linked to wine since 1928).
In addition to the wine tastings where you can taste varieties from the wineries mentioned, the event will take place outdoors with live music and gastronomy to pair the different proposals.
