The arrival of the Three Wise Men is one of the most awaited moments of the year in the capital. Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar cross the Far East to bring a smile to the children who have been good, leaving gifts in their homes while everyone else sleeps. Hours before, their Majesties pass through the center of Madrid in an imposing cavalcade from which they greet the whole city.
This Christmas, Madrid hosts an activity with which to immerse ourselves in the magical universe of the Kings: a tour in a historic train, from Principe Pio to a mysterious oriental whereabouts, where the little ones of the house will receive a letter to write their wishes. Pages, magicians, face painters and other friends of their Majesties will be there with colorful balloons and more surprises for the passengers.
Passengers to the train!
The trip lasts seventy minutes: forty minutes one way and thirty minutes return. There will be seats available from December 22 to January 5 (December 25 and January 1, being holidays, there will be no passes). The train will depart from the old North Station three times a day: twice in the morning (at 10:50 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) and once in the afternoon (at 4:30 p.m.).
The price, which includes round-trip ticket, is €15 per adult and €12 per child (except on January 5, which rises to €18 for all passengers). Children under three years old can make the trip for free as long as they do not occupy their own seat. That is, as long as they ride in the same seat as their accompanying parent or guardian. Tickets can already be purchased through Alsa’s official website.
