“Can you rewind for a moment? I was listening to the music and I didn’t hear it”. We’ve all been there. A movie has an iconic soundtrack and we can’t help but follow the beat with our head, foot or whatever utensil is at hand. Let John Bonham tremble if there’s a drum sound involved. So, for all you rewinders and rhythm lovers: ‘We call it Drums’ is coming to Madrid.
A musical experience in which mythical movie soundtracks are interpreted by professional percussionists among LED lights. And that can now be experienced on selected dates at the Teatro Luchana, located in the emblematic neighborhood of Chamberí. Let yourself be carried away by the rhythm, but not by the passage of time because places are limited, so be sure to reserve yours before they run out!
In fact, the 7:30 pm session is almost sold out, but you can still get tickets for the 9:00 pm session. Zone B for 37 euros or Zone A for 45 euros, you choose where to feel every beat of the drumstick and let yourself be carried away by the percussion.
What is ‘We call it Drums’?
A percussion show of cinema (literal and figurative) and light. A multi-sensory show in which five professional drummers perform some of the most iconic soundtracks, using drums illuminated by synchronized LED lights. The result? A unique musical experience where every note is a flash and a spectacle in itself. Sixty minutes of pure rhythm in which soft and explosive themes are interspersed with the technical mastery of the musicians and make every pulse of the drums coordinate with yours.
Why are the drums so hypnotic?
Everyone knows that the pens, fingers and pencils are really covert drumsticks. And that if the film is in a tense moment our foot follows the beat with speed, and if the music is calm, so are we. The pulse calms us down. And literally, because it has been proven that drumming makes us release endorphins (effectively, the hormones of happiness).
That’s why ‘We call it Drums’ arrives in Madrid between LED lights and mythical soundtracks like Star Wars with one goal: that film and music lovers (whether they have the rhythm in their veins or not) secrete endorphins.
From the creators of ‘We call it Tango’ and ‘We call it Jazz’, cinema’s most iconic soundtracks sound with drumsticks and are seen with LED lights in ‘We call it Drums’. A multi-sensory event performed by professional percussionists that comes to Madrid in the coming months, and on selected dates.
Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts, and seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis (within the category you selected when you got your ticket). Book your tickets now and enjoy a show where the music can be heard, and seen.
