The only cathedral in Spain consecrated by a pope
The Almudena Cathedral is one of those buildings that needs no introduction. Its cornerstone was laid in the 19th century, but the cathedral wasn’t consecrated until 1993 by Pope John Paul II. Since then, it has become one of Madrid’s most iconic religious buildings. In fact, it’s where King Felipe and Queen Letizia were married. Without a doubt, its architecture is impressive, and now you can enjoy a delicious meal with a view of this national treasure.
The experience in question includes a full-course meal at the photogenic Café de la Galería (Calle de Bailén). That’s where you’ll need to present your Fever ticket, and where you’ll receive the physical ticket for the museum visit and the climb to the dome, which can be done Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch is served from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Of course, before heading up and taking lots of photos, you’ll need to refuel by choosing whichever option you prefer:
- Appetizer (your choice): potato salad with ventresca; homemade croquettes (ham or baby squid); artichokes with ham; or burrata salad with arugula and tomato confit with pesto
- Main course (your choice): grilled pork shoulder with potatoes and peppers; pork cheeks with mashed potatoes; teriyaki salmon; cod fillets; hamburgers or pizzas
- Dessert (your choice): carrotcake ; cheesecake; apple pie; or red velvet cake (all served with ice cream)
- And of course, no meal is complete without a drink: you can choose from a glass of wine, beer, soda, or water. The menu also includes coffee or herbal tea.

Incredible panoramic views of Madrid
Admission to the cathedral is free; however, to visit the museum and climb to the dome , you’ll need a specific ticket. Those who choose this option will enjoy the climb to one of the capital’s most unique viewpoints.
It’s neither a hill nor a skyscraper, but the dome of a religious building. From the top, more than 70 meters high, visitors are treated to a 360-degree panoramic view of some of Madrid’s greatest landmarks: the Royal Palace, the Segovia Street viaduct, the Plaza de la Armería, and the Casa de Campo.
