An afternoon of picnics, music, and food in “one of the most beautiful urban meadows in the world”: it’s at the foot of the Alcázar of Segovia and will feature two drone shows

Music, art, local cuisine, and much more at the foot of the Alcázar: that’s what Segovia Picnic Day will be like

Segovia Picnic Day is designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, whether as a couple, with friends, or with family. Throughout the afternoon, the Charanga La Chicuelina will provide the musical accompaniment, while Pablo Méndez’s company, specializing in aerial shows, will interact with the audience through various performances on the grounds.

On the culinary front, Segovia Picnic Day will strongly support local businesses with initiatives like Burger Beats. There will also be Italian tiramisu and specialty coffees, among other offerings. Additionally, a craft market organized by Saborea Segovia will be set up. This space will bring together local producers, offering a great opportunity to sample locally sourced products (or even take them home).

The highlight of the evening will come as the sun sets. Against the backdrop of the illuminated Real Alcázar, the sky over Segovia will host two drone shows, each lasting 13 minutes, designed exclusively for this year’s event. There will be two performances: one at 10:00 PM, featuring 220 drones, and another at 11:30 PM, featuring 150.

And for those who enjoy paying attention to detail, there will be a contest for the Best Picnic Setup. Participants can design and decorate their own spaces on the meadow, which will be on display throughout the evening (advance registration is required to participate). Segovia Picnic Day also sets aside a space for charity with a photo booth to benefit Ronald McDonald House, set up in collaboration with the Tractor Museum.

An event committed to sustainability and environmental conservation

The Pradera de San Marcos is considered “one of the most iconic and beautiful urban meadows in the world,” and an environment of such heritage and scenic value must be enjoyed, but it must also be cared for with care and collective commitment. For this reason, Segovia Picnic Day has established a very clear rule: it will not be permitted to enter the grounds with any rigid or portable furniture , including chairs, tables, stools, umbrellas, or tents.

To facilitate mobility and reduce the environmental impact in the area, attendees are encouraged to walk to the event or use the public transportation services that will be provided specifically for the occasion.
