The country of Borges, Cortázar and Piazzolla celebrates Argentina Week in Madrid: seven days of activities and discounts aimed at making the attributes of the South American nation visible in the Spanish market.
Argentina’s presence in Madrid coincides with a major cultural event: ARCO, to be held from Wednesday, March 5 to Sunday, March 9. In 2025, the contemporary art fair will host eight galleries from the South American country: Del Infinito, Rolf Art, W-Galería, Remota, Ruth Benzacar Galería de Arte, Isla Flotante, Galería Nora Fisch and Herlitzka & Co. With them, the artistic production of Argentines will be highlighted.
Activities in theaters, bars and markets
On Monday, March 10, to celebrate the week with a good show, the Teatro Reina Victoria (carretera de San Jerónimo, 24) hosts Encuentro Argentino, a play in which a group of emigrated artists tell anecdotes and experiences far from home. It lasts 75 minutes and admission is completely free (it is advisable to book in advance).
For gourmets, Mercado de San Miguel has prepared a morning of tastings in the purest Argentine style: there will be croissants, hamburgers, pizzas, empanadas and wine on Thursday, March 6 from 11:00 to 14:00.
Discounts and gifts in Argentinean stores
In addition, there will be promotions in 50 Argentine businesses. Among them, we find restaurants such as Tita de Buenos Aires, which offers two chocotortas as a gift when buying two dozen empanadas; La Divina Bohemia, with a small special menu that includes fugazzeta, empanada and wine for 10€ or Tostado Café Club, which invites to coffee (or infusion, to choose) with croissant in its new premises in Alonso Martínez.
