What are a Lamborghini Miura or a Shelby Cobra doing in a place like this? On April 25 and 26, the Bosque del Santander (located in Boadilla del Monte) will be transformed into a pop-up museum for automotive enthusiasts. AUTOPÍA is a celebration of automotive culture and design in a bucolic setting: a 70-hectare estate that recreates various natural ecosystems.
But what gems await us? Which are the most spectacular cars in this edition? Which historic models will make their grand entrance among holm oaks, willows, and centuries-old olive trees?
The most surprising cars at AUTOPÍA 2026
This spring, AUTOPÍA will celebrate a special milestone: the 60th anniversary of the Lamborghini Miura, considered the first supercar in history. Six decades of a car that “changed the game forever,” in the words of the event organizers. Do you remember that iconic opening scene from The Italian Job (1969)? We’ll remind you of it here… Enjoy the moment.
Another of the highlights selected by the organizers bears the name of a cryptic, aggressive, fast, untamed animal. That is how the Shelby Cobra was conceived (we’ll be able to see two at AUTOPÍA ), pure power and design. Not surprisingly, Steve McQueen, a renowned car enthusiast, drove a Shelby Cobra that was often associated with his lifestyle.
To all this, we also add a footnote for all fans of adventure and the free spirit: one of the sections of AUTOPÍA will be dedicated to the history of Dakar motorcycles, from the modern beasts that have won recent editions to the legends of 1988, such as Agustín Costa’s motorcycle (winner of the Marathon category) and that of the runner-up from that historic year. Also from the World Rally Championship, featuring an official WRC car or Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari F10—the 2010 world runner-up.
And three classic nods: Bosque Santander will present a section dedicated to the 1970s Spanish brand Hispano Alemán; another dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Mercedes Unimog trucks; and a space dedicated to Ducati motorcycles from every decade.
Finally, a tip: AUTOPÍA is designed as a family-friendly and pet-friendly event , so in addition to activities and services (such as food trucks, live music, driving simulators, and radio-controlled cars…), the little ones can also explore the natural surroundings on a themed miniature train.
