Avatar: The Experience at Espacio Delicias is entering its final stretch: a 1,400 m² journey into the fauna, flora, and fragile balance of Pandora. Tickets on sale before it bids farewell to the capital.
Through the work of the Pandora Research Foundation, the exhibition becomes an interactive field notebook. Here, you don’t just observe. You smell the jungle, hear the heartbeats of living creatures, and touch the texture of the world of Pandora. It is also a space where art and reality converge: along its paths, you’ll find physical objects and designs that served as models for the creation of the newly released film Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes. These are tangible pieces that, before being transformed by CGI, were the starting point for imagining the saga’s future in James Cameron’s studio.
Along the way, interactive stations appear that serve as training for humans who might one day live there: from video games to learn how to use AMP suits (yes, those robotic suits we all remember from the saga) and informational panels to spaces where visitors discover the role of each animal and plant in the balance of the Avatar ecosystem. Among them are adorable thanator cubs —a species of big cat—and small banshees that move in front of the audience. The tour also includes opportunities to “avatarize” yourself and Ikran flight simulations .
In this way, Espacio Delicias becomes the physical gateway to this universe, just in the year that the third ‘Avatar’ movie was released .
An experience for true Avatar fans
Those who once dreamed of speaking Na’vi or flying on an ikran (or mountain banshee ) will understand what’s happening at Espacio Delicias. Avatar: The Experience is a one-hour journey through the echoes of the highest-grossing saga in history: bioluminescent jungles, floating mountains, and creatures breathing so close that it’s hard to remember where fiction ends. There are animatronics that look like they’ve stepped right off the set and projections that make us feel like we’re in a scene from the saga.
Following The Way of Water (2022) and with Avatar 3: Fire and Ash already released, this experience is perfect for fans to return to Pandora before heading to the movie theater (or afterward). The tour also features elements from James Cameron’s own studio: concept art and pre-visualization materials that, after going through CGI, will eventually be integrated into the cinematic universe.
Here’s what the journey through Pandora looks like: nine rooms connected by an immersive narrative
Avatar: The Experience will unfold across nine rooms that build a progressive journey through the universe of Pandora. The experience begins at a welcome center where visitors receive a mission, and from that point the tour shifts in tone and setting: laboratories, natural environments, and symbolic areas that combine technology, set design, and storytelling.
Along the way, each room offers a different way to engage with this world: from understanding its ecosystem to participating in interactive activities, such as adopting Na’vi traits or digitally flying over the Hallelujah Mountains.
The tour concludes with a more contemplative space, designed as an emotional finale and a connection to the spirituality of the Na’vi. A conclusion that connects the idea of Pandora as a living place, not just to look at, but to inhabit during the experience.
