Although the survival of children with cancer has increased by 10% in the last decade, the fight against this disease is still a challenge for researchers around the world. In order to pay tribute to children undergoing cancer treatment and raise awareness of their reality, the Juegaterapia Foundation has placed seven giant Baby Pelones in Madrid.
During its tenth anniversary, the Baby Pelones -also known as “the cutest dolls in the world” because they are made in the image and likeness of little hospital heroes- will take to the streets of the Salamanca neighborhood until April 20.
Famous friends of Juegaterapia such as Shakira, Manuel Carrasco, Laura Pausini, Paula Echevarría or Alejandro Sanz have collaborated in the design of the scarf that the dolls wear on their heads, symbol of the battle against childhood cancer. It represents one of the most difficult moments of their treatment: hair loss.
