On September 26 and 27, the Madrid bookstore Panta Rhei will raise its shutters to do what it does every day, sell books, but following a slightly different dynamic: a flea market where you can find copies at much lower prices than usual.
These copies will come from the catalog of the publishing house Los Libros del Zorro Rojo and will include both backlist and new releases. As for the reason for the discounts, they are due to the fact that they are books with some kind of damage.
These small defects can be small defects, bumps and/or printing defects: “It is a perfect opportunity to discover books from our catalog at more affordable prices, and thus give them a second life”, explains María, from Libros del Zorro Rojo publishing house.
How does the Zorro Rojo and Panta Rhei flea market work?
The mechanics is simple: each copy will have a yellow, orange or red sticker that indicates the state in which the volume is and, depending on this, what discount is applied. The discount ranges from 30% to 60% of the original price.
