Ice skating is one of those activities that has gradually become a Christmas classic. And this season 2025-2026 Madrid gains a new space to enjoy this activity: the third reservoir of the Canal de Isabel II, also called Santander Park. There has been installed, only until January 7, an ice rink open every day. Here you can get your tickets.
An iconic space that is recycled
This new ice rink is located in the third reservoir of the Canal de Isabel II. What was once one of the largest water reservoirs for the capital (now celebrating 175 years) was converted in 2023 into a public park, Parque Santander, perfect for hosting all kinds of cultural and sports activities.
And this Christmas, in addition to being able to stroll through its gardens or take the children to their recreational areas, we can enjoy the new skating rink that has been installed.

Practical information
The new Santander Park ice rink is open every day of the week until January 7, 2026 on a continuous schedule. The first session is at 11 am and the last at 9:30 pm. The sessions are half an hour, the price is 8 € and the recommended age for this activity is from 12 years old.
To access the rink it is mandatory to wear gloves. Did you leave them at home? No problem, they can be rented there for 2€ per pair. In addition, for extra security (something especially recommended for children) we can also rent a helmet for 2€ per unit.
The closest stops are Cuatro Caminos (lines 1 and 2), Canal (lines 2 and 7) and Río Rosas (line 1). And if you come by Cercanías, the Nuevos Ministerios stop is just over a kilometer away.
