Children have so much energy and capacity for fun that even in a cosmopolitan city like Madrid, there was a lack of a place to unleash all of that. But not anymore. Chaos Lab is opening its doors at the Islazul Shopping Center (Carabanchel) —a lab where little ones can let their imaginations run wild while having fun and learning. You can get tickets here.
The name Chaos Lab makes perfect sense: it’s a lab, but it’s also pure chaos—in other words, it’s learning through play. And like any good lab, it wouldn’t be complete without an iconic character: the hilarious and eccentric Doctor Splat, that mad scientist who’ll help the little ones tackle and solve various scientific experiments. To do so, children will have to jump, play, and go wild with nine activities spread across six immersive rooms.

What kind of challenges and activities will we find at Chaos Lab?

In this space, the freedom to create, transform, experiment, and interact with the environment is infinite. The rooms and experiences inside are specially designed to foster imagination and ingenuity: a laboratory for creation and experimentation through play, discovery, and entertainment:
Chaos Pit is one of those places where it’ll be hard to get the little ones to leave: a ball pit with trampolines and scientific elements to help understand concepts like gravity, inertia, and momentum.
- Among the interactive activities, children can team up with Dr. Splat in an interactive science show, discovering scientific wonders and actively participating in experiments.
- In the Physics Lab, gravity and energy will be explored through various experiments (for both the youngest and oldest members of the family).
- The Planetary Laboratory is a place where you explore the Earth, its resources, and the concept of sustainability through games.
- The H20 Laboratory is designed to explore the full power of water and understand the concept of dynamics through different structures.
- Chaos Pit is one of those places where it’ll be hard to get the little ones to leave: a ball pit with trampolines and scientific elements to help understand concepts like gravity, inertia, and momentum.

The Chaos Lab tour ends with a coffee for that much-needed break for the warrior (or the scientist?) after such an adrenaline rush. Inside, the Chaos Pit will let the most active kids keep playing. You’ll also find a shop with different games and even accessories to set up a lab at home.
In addition to all this, Chaos Lab is a great place for kids to celebrate their birthdays. In fact, it offers a special ticket for these types of events, which you can purchase here. This ticket comes with different package options to customize your party, ranging from a basic package that includes only admission to the experience to various packages featuring all kinds of snacks. You must purchase a minimum of 8 children’s tickets, and admission for the accompanying adult is free.
In short, Chaos Lab is a playful experience, suitable for all children (ages 4 and up) who feel creative, where they can play and experiment spontaneously and freely. A place to try things out, experiment, get to know themselves better, and put themselves to the test. All through fun shows and interactive experiments.
