The second half of November is the perfect time to renew the Christmas decorations at home. In the capital there is a wide range of options to do so. From the typical Christmas markets that are erected in emblematic squares of Madrid to department stores with Muy Mucho-style stores, hundreds of businesses seem to have gone a month ahead in time. The stars of Bethlehem, garlands and tinsel are here again, but at what price?
One of the cheapest stores that has opened its doors to Christmas is Hôma, a 3,000-square-meter store located in the TresAguas shopping center (Alcorcón) that sells all kinds of decorative items for the home. Here we can already find -in addition to the furniture that is sold all year round- small Christmas trees from 6,29€ and big ones from 29€. It also has ornaments such as stars, artificial plants or dolls at coffee prices: between 1.20 and 3 € per unit, not to mention other bargains like their packs of 18 balls for 2.29 euros.
If by the way we want to buy kitchenware to give more style to our Christmas dinners, prices are just as competitive in the kitchen section: there are plates, place mats, placemats, glasses and many other items ideal for decorating the dining table from 1 € per unit.
With its slogan ‘Happy home living’, Hôma arrived in Spain in June 2024. Its Alcorcón store is the second to open in Madrid (the first is in Isla Azul), and it will not be the last. After 25 years in the Portuguese market, JJA, the group behind the brand, plans to expand throughout Spain, creating more than 1,000 jobs over the next five years.
