Chamberí has no beach, but here, as in any coastal town, the Fiestas del Carmen are celebrated. With a larger budget than last year, 199,805 euros, these popular festivals will run from July 12 to 16.
The epicenter of the Carmen festival will be the Plaza de Chamberí, where the main stage will feature rock, Pop and DJ performances, although the names are yet to be confirmed. Gymkhanas, escape rooms, children’s performances and other activities for children will be located in the Jose Luis Sampedro Park. As in previous years, the street Ponzano will be excluded from the festival grounds.
A special feature this year is that the poster for the festivities was chosen through a public contest and the winner received a prize of 1,000 €.
