“Renfe is restoring high-speed service between Madrid and Andalusia today, after Adif authorized the resumption of service.” This was reported by Renfe on Tuesday regarding the restoration of rail service between the two regions after the fatal accident in Adamuz, which left 46 people dead and hundreds injured.
According to the company, the Madrid-Seville, Madrid-Cadiz, Madrid-Granada, and Madrid-Granada-Almeria services are back to their usual schedules. However, there are cases in which the routes have not yet returned to normal.
In the case of the Madrid-Huelva service, the first train ran to Córdoba and from there the rest of the journey had to be made by bus. The rest of the scheduled services, in both directions, are now running normally (i.e., entirely by train).
On the other hand, a section of the Madrid-Málaga route will still be affected until the beginning of March: this is the section between Antequera and Málaga, which will be covered by bus due to works being carried out by Adif.
Return of Iryo trains

On February 17, Iryo trains will also resume service, as announced by the company on its social media accounts: the Madrid-Seville line will once again operate with 14 daily trips (seven in each direction).
Iryo notes that this announcement also includes “the Barcelona-Seville cross-country services, with four daily services (two in each direction).” Timetables can be consulted on their website.
Passengers who purchased their tickets in advance and have been affected by changes in service “are being rebooked on other services or, if they prefer, can opt for a full refund of their ticket.”
