Since its opening in May, the Pacífico restaurant has achieved something relatively uncommon: transforming a locale on the top floor of a shopping center into a viral phenomenon. Its proposal is not new -an open buffet with Asian food, among other things-, but its way of presenting it is: more than 200 options of dishes in an environment that simulates the bottom of the sea, with luminous jellyfish, sand corridors and whales on the walls. Everything from 16.80 euros on weekdays.
Located on Avenida de Europa, 5, just above the MediaMarkt in the Parque Oeste shopping center in Alcorcón, this Asian restaurant has been self-styled -and for now with no rival to dispute the title- the largest wok buffet in Madrid. And one visit is enough to understand why.
Seafood, sushi and grilled meats: a never-ending offer
The experience begins with seafood: fresh and seasonal, prepared on the spot. It continues with a variety of sushi, dim sum, cold meats, cheeses, salads and hot dishes such as gyozas, black rice or paella. For the more international, there are also burritos, pasta and fabada. But the main dish is in the grill area, where the meats – Argentinean style – are cooked to order in full view of the diner.
The menu includes unlimited drinks, from soft drinks to beer, summer red or coffee. And, to close, a dessert bar that could rival a pastry shop: fresh fruit, ice cream and homemade cakes in a variety of flavors.
A hit with the public, with daily queues
Although Pacifico is open every day – from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. and from 8:00 to 11:30 p.m. – it’s not easy to get a table without waiting. The queues that form at the entrance are already part of the daily landscape. The price, which varies according to the schedule, is part of the hook: 16.80 euros from Monday to Thursday at noon, 22 euros in the evening, and 26 euros on weekends and holidays. For children up to 1.40 meters it costs 12 euros, and those up to 1.40 meters tall get in free.
